Day 85: One Shot

July 13, 2010 started with a trip to the emergency room because my friend split his finger open at work. The story behind the injury is pretty boring, so until he comes up with a better one I'm just not going to share it. We got to the ER around 1am and waited there three hours before they slapped some glue on his finger, gave him a tetanus shot, and sent us back out the door.

I almost didn't want to use this picture for today because, the way I've been thinking of it, I only get one chance to use a sunset picture for the blog. Only being on Day 85, I keep asking myself, "Is this the best sunset picture I'll be able to get all year?" I finally realized that the answer is no. There will always be sunsets, and chances are one will come up that's even better than this one.

But I don't want to sit around and wait for that to happen. This was an amazing sunset by my standards, and even if it isn't the perfect picture, I'd rather capture something incredible than sit around waiting for the perfect one. At the end of the day, I'm proud of the picture.

And if another one comes up, well, I don't see the harm in having two amazing sunsets in the blog. So we'll just consider this "Awesome Sunset #1".
